TONY TRAMMELL

FOUNDER/HEAD INSTRUCTOR

Tony Trammell, the esteemed owner and head instructor of Corvo Martial Arts, is a highly accomplished martial artist with a deep-rooted passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He holds the rank of second-degree black belt under Allen Mohler, a fifth-degree black belt, further solidifying his expertise in the art. Tony’s journey in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has been shaped by years of dedication, including training under the legendary Gracie family and refining his skills under some of the best instructors in the world. His commitment to the sport is evident through his numerous competition victories, including pro matches and high-level tournaments. Today, Tony’s focus is on coaching and mentoring the students at Corvo Martial Arts. With his extensive experience and proven track record in competition, he is dedicated to helping students of all levels develop their skills, build confidence, and reach their goals. Under Tony’s leadership, Corvo Martial Arts continues to thrive as a place where students receive top-tier instruction, rooted in technical excellence, real-world application, and a supportive team culture. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced practitioner, training under Tony means learning from one of the best. Tony also believes that modern Jiu-Jitsu has evolved into a distinctly American art, as many of the sport’s greatest innovations now come from American practitioners who have pushed the boundaries of technique and competition. However, he holds the utmost respect for the Brazilian and Japanese pioneers who laid the foundation for what Jiu-Jitsu is today. His approach honors the traditions of the past while embracing the ever-evolving nature of the sport’s future.

DOMINIC RAMOS

PROFESSOR

Dominic Ramos – Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt & Instructor Dominic Ramos is a dedicated and highly skilled Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt with over 13 years of training experience. Recently promoted to black belt by Tony Trammell, Dominic has continually showcased his technical expertise, competitive spirit, and passion for the art. With an impressive competition record, Dominic has earned numerous accolades throughout his journey. As a purple belt, he secured third place at the American Nationals, proving his grit and technical precision on the mats. Additionally, he placed second at No-Gi Pans, demonstrating his versatility in different grappling formats. Beyond Jiu-Jitsu, Dominic was awarded a prestigious wrestling scholarship to the University of Central Missouri, a testament to his athleticism, discipline, and commitment to excellence in both academics and competition. As an instructor, Dominic is passionate about sharing his knowledge and helping students develop their skills. His patient teaching style and emphasis on technical refinement make him a valued mentor to students of all levels. With years of dedication, competition experience, and now the rank of black belt, Dominic continues to inspire those around him, proving that hard work and perseverance lead to mastery in Jiu-Jitsu.

BRIEN MCKIN

U.S. Army Veteran & Coach

Brien – U.S. Army Veteran & Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Practitioner Born in Florida and raised in Texas, Brien has been an athlete his entire life, playing sports throughout his childhood and into high school. After graduation, he answered the call to serve, enlisting in the United States Army on April 4, 2007. During his military career, he completed a tour in Afghanistan from October 2009 to October 2010, demonstrating resilience, discipline, and dedication to his country. After eight years of service, Brien transitioned into civilian life due to an injury, but his warrior spirit never faded. In 2018, he found a new passion and challenge in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Corvo Martial Arts. Through hard work and perseverance, he has progressed to Purple Belt, continuously sharpening his skills and embracing the grind of the mats. Brien’s background in military service, athletics, and combat training has shaped him into a disciplined and dedicated martial artist, embodying the mental toughness and leadership that make him a valued member of the Corvo family.

MICHELLE TRENT

COACH

Michelle Trent is a certified personal trainer with 14 years of experience and a brown belt under Tony Trammell. After spending the early years of her fitness career competing in bodybuilding and CrossFit, she decided to jump into martial arts in 2013 to challenge herself even further. Over the course of her career, she has competed in numerous Jiu Jitsu tournaments, MMA and spent two months training/competing in Thailand. Although she originally set out just to be a competitor, she began coaching women’s Jiu Jitsu after she received her purple belt in fall of 2017 and fell in love with the coaching aspect of the sport. Since then, she has taught women’s classes, over 30 self-defense seminars and has coached women in tournaments. Her goal for coaching is to get more women on the mats so they can feel empowered and confident enough to defend themselves.

JOSH MOSQUEA

COACH

Josh is a highly skilled striking coach at Corvo Martial Arts, bringing over 11 years of experience in the world of combat sports. With a strong background in MMA, he has competed as both an amateur and professional fighter, sharpening his skills in both striking and grappling. Josh is now a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Professor Tony Trammell, further solidifying his expertise as a well-rounded martial artist. Josh’s extensive experience in mixed martial arts gives him a unique coaching perspective. He understands the intricacies of striking and grappling, knowing exactly what it takes to succeed in the ring and on the mats. His ability to blend striking with grappling makes his instruction invaluable for students looking to improve their all-around game. As a dedicated coach, Josh is committed to helping his students develop high-level striking techniques, improve their overall fitness, and reach their martial arts goals. Whether you’re a beginner learning the basics or an experienced fighter looking to sharpen your skills, Josh provides the guidance, knowledge, and support needed to help you improve. With his wealth of experience, passion for martial arts, and newly earned black belt, Josh is an irreplaceable part of the Corvo team. ROY OCANAS

COACH

Roy is an experienced instructor of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Corvo Martial Arts and a Brown belt in Jiu Jitsu. He is passionate about both training Jiu-Jitsu and providing fitness instruction. With his expertise in Jiu-Jitsu, Roy is dedicated to teaching and sharing his knowledge with his students. Additionally, he has a strong passion for fitness instruction, helping individuals achieve their fitness goals through effective training techniques. Roy's commitment to both Jiu-Jitsu and fitness instruction makes him a valuable asset to Corvo Martial Arts.

STEPHEN SHNAYDERMAN

COACH

Stephen Shnayderman is a dedicated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt under Tony Trammell, with years of experience both competing and coaching. While he has tested himself in numerous competitions, his true passion lies in teaching—particularly with the Little Crows and kids’ classes at Corvo Martial Arts. Known for his patience, energy, and ability to keep young students engaged, Stephen creates an environment where kids not only develop strong Jiu-Jitsu fundamentals but also build confidence, discipline, and a love for learning. His classes are structured yet fun, making them enjoyable for both kids and parents alike. Outside of Corvo, Stephen runs his own program, Little Grapplers, where he continues to share his passion for teaching and introducing young students to the art of Jiu-Jitsu. His dedication to youth development and martial arts education makes him a valuable part of the Corvo team and an inspiration to the next generation of grapplers.

SUSAN PHAM

Operations Manager / Team Mom

What do you get when you combine 22 years of IT management, a background in customer relations, process automation, and software development—with a passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu? You get Susan, the glue that keeps Corvo Martial Arts running smoothly! By day, she’s deep in the world of healthcare IT, managing operations, streamlining processes, and making sure things work smarter, not harder. By night, she trades one desk job for another, ensuring Corvo is a welcoming, organized, and thriving space for all students. From membership management to class logistics, social media to spreadsheets—Susan does it all (with a little mom energy to keep everyone in line). As a U.S. Army veteran, she knows discipline, structure, and how to handle just about anything thrown her way. But more than anything, she’s committed to making Corvo a true family—where every student feels supported, encouraged, and part of something special.
